The Disappearing Elephant –

WHAT:
“The Disappearing Elephant,” a life-size ice sculpture of an African elephant, that will melt before spectator’s eyes, representing the plight of the African elephant. This event marks the launch of Amarula and WildlifeDIRECT’s new campaign, “Don’t Let Them Disappear.”

WHERE:
Union Square North, at East 17th Street and Broadway in NYC (see map attached)

WHEN:
World Elephant Day, Saturday, August 12th, 2017 – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

WHY:
There are only approximately 400,000 African elephants remaining, as one elephant is lost every 15 minutes to poaching. This event will symbolize the jarring fact our elephants are disappearing, and we want to do everything possible to protect them. On World Elephant Day, famed South African cream liqueur, Amarula, in partnership with WildlifeDIRECT, will host a memorable event to help raise awareness around this issue. Come September 1st (and continuing on for the remainder of 2017), for every bottle of Amarula sold, $1 will be donated to WildlifeDIRECT to support their efforts to help save the African elephant.
