This World Elephant Day, join The Elephant Sanctuary in downtown Hohenwald, TN for a live presentation by special guest Paleoecologist Greg Smith. Greg will be discussing the diet of extinct members of the Proboscidia Family—mastadons and mammoths—as well as the role that these animals had in their environment, and what that can teach us about their modern relatives, the elephants.

Greg Smith is a Vertebrate Paleoecologist PhD student in the Earth and Environmental Sciences Department at Vanderbilt University. His research primarily focuses on the environments and diets of extinct members of the elephant family.
