Special Screening of Born to Be Wild in Edmonton for World Elephant Day!

The Red Hat Wrinkled Rubies is an Edmonton, Alberta based chapter of women who belong to an international group called The Red Hat Society. Our chapter has supported elephants for over a decade through The World Wildlife Fund.

To support World Elephant Day on August 12, we asked Telus World of Science if they would have a special showing for us of the film Born to Be Wild, and they agreed!
The film’s focus is on two women: Dr Birute Mary Galdikas, a primatologist who rescues orangutans in Borneo; and Daphne Sheldrick who rescues elephants in Kenya. Along with their teams, both women have been successful in rehabilitating and returning these beautiful creatures back to the wild.
