Take the Elephant Trumpet Challenge to Make It A Million Signatures!

We are excited to announce the Make It A Million promotion for the Ivory-Free Canada petition!  At the moment we have almost 600,000 and we want to Make It A Million signatures by World Elephant Day on August 12.  We hope to present the one million signatures to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Jonathan Wilkinson, on World Elephant Day.

To encourage all those signatures, we are holding the Elephant Trumpet Challenge!  Post a video of your best elephant trumpet on your social media channels to help us Make It A Million Signatures.  Then challenge two of your friends to do the same. It could not be more easy or fun to help protect elephants!

As a member of the Ivory-Free Canada Coalition, our petition asks the Canadian government to ban the import, domestic sale, and export of elephant ivory in Canada, whether it be raw ivory, worked ivory or a hunting trophy.  Please sign the petition at www.change.org/IvoryFreeCanada.

3 Easy Steps to Take the Challenge

 1.  Record a video of your loudest, proudest elephant trumpet – actions and audio.  Extra points for added humour, costumes or props.  Really let  yourself go like a big tusker!  Laughing is allowed.

Here is an example of what you can say in the video. You can edit it or say your own message. Don’t forget to show a “change.org/IvoryFreeCanada” sign
in your video.  This sign and the script can be printed out here.  If a friend holds the script just below your cell camera, you don’t have to memorize it.

“I’m taking the Elephant Trumpet Challenge to save elephants.
Please sign the petition (show the sign) to Make It A Million signatures by World Elephant Day.
Here’s my best trumpet….. I nominate ____ and ____ .”

2. Upload your video first on facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram.  Then write a funny post with a request for your friends to sign and share the petition
at www.change.org/IvoryFreeCanada.   At the end include “#MakeItAMillion”.
(By posting your video you give the Ivory-Free Canada Coalition permission to show your video on their websites and/or social media, unless you inform us otherwise at elephanaticsinfo@gmail.com.)

3. Keep checking the online petition to see when we reach one million signatures!

Thanks for posting your Elephant Trumpet Challenge video and helping the elephants. If you have  any questions, feel free to email us at elephanaticsinfo@gmail.com.
