Go WILD for elephants on World Elephant Day!

World Elephant Day is less than one week away! Jabulani Safari are joining HERD for their World Elephant Day event, Trails for Trunks, and training has already begun. From our ranger team to our butlers and managers, everyone is getting ready to go wild for elephants! We invite you to take part too, from wherever you are in the world.

The worldwide virtual event will take place over the weekend of World Elephant Day, from 11 to 13 August. Anyone can participate from anywhere in the worldby getting active for elephants. Any activity counts! Our team will be dancing, running, walking, and cycling for elephants.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Step 1: Choose how you want to get active for elephants. You can run, walk, hike, swim, surf, ski, cycle – anything you want! You can get active on your own, or you can gather your friends, family, or even your coworkers.

Step 2: To help raise awareness, print out one (or several) of HERD’s Trails for Trunks stamps and take them with you when you get active. Download the stamps here >

Step 3: Go out and get active! Have fun and make a difference for elephants. Take lots of photos and videos too!

Step 4: Share photos or videos of your activity on social media, or send them to social@herd.org.za. Remember to tag HERD in your posts and use the hashtags #trailsfortrunks and #worldelephantday.

HOW TO ENTER THE PRIZE DRAW

HERD is also having a Trails for Trunks prize draw! If you adopt one of the Jabulani herd elephants before 13 August, you will stand a chance to win a private Supervirtual Experience with the Jabulani elephants.

Symbolic elephant adoptions help HERD to care for the elephants. The donations go toward the costs of supplemental food, medicine, and veterinary care for the elephants, as well as cleaning and maintenance of the elephant homestead.

Every $50 spent on elephant adoptions gets you one entry into the prize draw (for South Africans, every R500 gets you one entry).
