World Elephant Day, 12th August 2023.
Mega felicitation and celebration event!!!
The day we have felicitated our Frontline Forest Staffs, Conservation Organizations and Individuals who have performed extraordinary commitment towards the protection of our National Heritage Animal. We have also organized various cultural events, live quiz for school kids. School kids also have performed a great drama on wildlife conservation in the event. We have also showcased a Elephant Documentary directed by Sangita Iyer and Voice for Asian Elephants Society. 350+ students from 14 schools of Jalpaiguri were present along with teachers and forest staffs and official of Gorumara Wildlife Division, Jalpaiguri Division and Baikunthpur Division.
We are also privileged to felicitate 15 staff members of Gorumara Wildlife Division, Jalpaiguri Division and Baikunthpur Division, Conservation Organizations like Himalayan Nature and Adventure Foundation ( HNAF ), Society for Heritage and Ecological Research (SHER), Society for Protection Ophiofauna and Animal Rights ( SPOAR ( Society for Protecting Ophiofauna & Animal Rights ) , Human & Environment Alliance League – HEAL , P.P.S MAYNAGURI ( save Nature save wild) , Nature Environment & Wildlife Society (NEWS), Gairkata Aaranyak and individuals like Avijan Saha , Dr. Aritra Kshettry (WWF India), Mrs Nabonita Upadhyay and Mr. Arup Guha.
